fresh of the plane from the land of analogue, my first bolg.
i'm not even sure if i'm even spelling it right, which makes me super awesome. (1 g or 2??). hyperswesome. so here's the drudge, here's what pulled me out of my comfortable 1987 existence down the ethernet cable and onto the screen.
i want to know if i can go an entire semester with out buying crap.
i want to see if i can spend an entire semester off the consumer hamster wheel. from now until december (because as an pathetic student, my world is divided into quarters and semesters, culminating in the terrifying ledge over the void that is graduation.)
what i want to know is, what happens if i can't rely on just getting it new? it's so easy to just log onto amazon and my friendly post service representative will kindly leave it on my door in 3-7 days. it is just so much easier to buy buy buy it new. i want to see how tied to this i really am, and what happens when i step off the wheel.
so this is the plan:
for the next 3 months i am not going to buy anything new.
ok, well there are some substantial caveats.
food-if i can find ways to get it for free or cheap, i am on board. but it's not the focus of this project mainly because i am crabby as hell when i'm underfed. not good for anyone.
cat food and litter-same as above, but insert the word "cats" for the word "i'm"
personal products-like soap and toothpaste and floss. i've got my limits y'all.
so whats left is the balance. binder paper, jeans, computer cables, printer paper, socks, double stick tape.
that's the plan anyway. will see how it goes.
